A small posse of Brit Girls crossed La Manche this week before heading back to Sutton and it's Tash Khan who's making the biggest waves at the moment! World ranked 579, she'd battled her way through qualifying to be dealt a very tough draw in the first round proper. She pulled off a terrific coup today downing the 3rd seed and world 254 Maria Kondratieva 7-6(8) 4-6 6-4

Naomi Broady (world 468) eased through her first round 2&3 against the world 945 ; but Mandy Elliott had a going down to a French opponent ranked over 400 places below her.

Comfortable progress yesterday for Tash and Naomi against French opponents 3&3 + 4&4
The points structure has been tinkered with this year; a QF in a $10k earns 4 points now [AO QF gets 500!]

Tash in fact still on for two titles although getting to the doubles SF hasn't been too tricky...BYE followed by W/O !
