Main Brit Guy hopes of breaking the 2009 singles title duck in Germany this week are Josh Goodall at the top of the top half of the draw and James Ward, seeded 5, at the top of the bottom half of the draw. A Josh v James final would be good!!

Jonathan Marray (the only other Brit in the main draw) will be hoping to interrupt that particular party as he has Josh in the first round! May the best man win!

Jonathan Marray overturned a ranking deficit of over 250 to shock Josh 6-7 6-3 6-3 in today's first round to become the sole Brit guy in the top half of the draw; he could still face James Ward in the final on Sunday, James winning 6-3 6-3 today. Good luck lads!

Jonathan's dream week is still very much on track!
The singles QFs line-up was all 7 remaining seeds plus Jonathan who duly took out the world 374 6th seed in 2 tie-break sets!
Up against 3rd seeded Belgian in today's semi and also through to the doubles semis. Go, Jonathan!

James Ward's singles run ended at the QF stage going down to the 4th seed.

Jonathan's through to both finals!!

He went through with Rasmus Norby of Denmark 4&4 in the doubles; in the singles his 4-6 6-4 6-2 victory means he has claimed his third seeded scalp of the week (#1, #6 & now #3) to now meet the 4th seed in the final. Way to go, Jonathan!

Jonathan's week didn't quite have the grand finale he'd have hoped for. Went down in the singles final 6-2 7-6 and conceded the doubles on a walk-over.

It's been a great week, though, and should boost the old ranking when the numbers have fed through!
