The Australian Open plus the Glasgow and Wrexham 10Ks have fed through into the rankings today.

There is jubilation for GB as both Mel South in the singles list and Sarah Borwell in the doubles list broke into the top 100 for the first time to join Anne Keothavong!

Cricketers detest the number 99; tennis players love it!

Elena Baltacha is knocking on the door, too, at #108 (singles) which is a career high. Georgie Stoop is another on a new career high today (194 singles).

Our Emily, thanks to others dropping the wrong way, even managed a rise of 4 places without swinging a racquet (except in training, of course!)

Liz Thomas has risen 24 places since the last list ; sadly, our Olivia has slipped down the order whilst she's recovering from her injury with last year's good results from Wrexham and Sunderland dropping off.

Hi Jemma; there's every chance in the list of 16th Feb as Em is just 16 points behind Amanda at the moment and Amanda, defending 24 points from Sutton last year, went out in the first round.

It would be better if Em leapfrogged her on the strength of a good run at Midland, though!

The vagaries of the rankings mean that our Emily rises 3 places in today's singles world list to #345. 2 points are due to come off this week (but that's the last until July! ).

With the top 16 tournament scores counting and Em only having 12 counting so far, the next 4 scores will be all to the good. The only way is up!

Only significant moves amongst Brit Girls this week are Naomi Broady and Tash Khan courtesy of Grenoble. Naomi is up 35 places to a new career high 441 . Tash is up 24 to 538 ; her career high is 393 so a little way off yet.

In the doubles list, Sarah Borwell has edged upwards by 1 to #98, a new career high .

Emily up to GB #7 today!

Olivia's good results this time last year are dropping off meaning that her ranking is going the wrong way at the moment, inevitably; the good news, though, is that she'll have the minimum number of ranking scores (3) until mid-July so she's still got plenty of time to come back from her injury

Other significant ranking news today is Katie's great fortnight has all been added on at once giving her a lift of 21 places to 139; Naomi B is up 28 to a new career high 413; and Bally is up 1 to a new career high 107.

So that it doesn't get lost in the sands of time (or the left-behind Memphis thread, anyway! ), the big news this week is that for the first time since Jo Durie in 1993 there is a Brit Girl in the world top 50!

Anne Keothavong rises 4 to 48 thanks to reaching the SF in Memphis; and her doubles ranking is up 11 to world 117 making her GB #2 on that front between Sarah Borwell (#1) and Mel South (#3).

It's been a brilliant 12 months for Annie; long may it continue!

At last, after a month of Brit Girls more or less treading water in the world rankings lists, there's some significant movement to report and it's Emily up 25 places to world #322!

With points dropping off for Naomi C overnight the gap between Em and Naomi for the GB #6 spot has slimmed from 91 places to 44; from looking over her shoulder for Mandy Elliott (who was keeping pace with Em until losing her SF in Dijon) Em can now looking forward instead!

Hopefully they can both move forward towards the 250 mark which is the likely cut-off for qualie places for Roland Garros and Wimbledon!

Naomi has more points dropping off this week thanks to good performances this time last year so she'll be hoping for a good showing at the Hammond 25k this week in Louisiana!

Em's next outing is likely to be the 10k in Turkey week commencing 6th April the list for which went firm today with Em at MD #2

Big rankings news next week is likely to be our Emily taking over as GB #6 in the singles list!

This week's big news is Katie O'Brien's terrific run of form has promoted her to GB #3 today and world 127!

This week's biggest riser was Tara Moore up from 636 to 579!

New career highs today for Georgie Stoop (180), Naomi Broady (396) and Mandy Carrera (507)!

And Em snuck up 1 to 321!

Biggest riser in the doubles list was our Em up from 393 to 357 just 12 shy now of her career high!

Nice also to report Dani Brown's run of form this year has earned her a doubles ranking in today's list and she's just one score away from a singles ranking too!

Emily duly elevated to GB #6 this week!
Also up to within 8 of her career high in the doubles list!

Good news also for Naomi Broady into the GB top 10 at #10 and a new career high world #392.

New career highs in the doubles list this week for Jade Curtis up 2 at #272 and Liz Thomas up 26 at #325!

A quiet week on the rankings front

However, people dropping past her mean Emily is up another 4 in the doubles list this week! Just 4 shy of her CH now!

Same story in the singles list for GB #2 Mel South who is +3 to 108 with the cut-off for Roland Garros looming up

Big singles news this week is Katie O'Brien's haul from South Africa leapfrogging her up to world 107 just 3 shy of her CH ; and nipping past Mel South to become GB #2 ; Mel has been out with an injury for the last couple of weeks or so but is expected back on the matchcourt soon. Fingers crossed

Jade C up 29 notches to 451 just 2 shy of her CH which she will certainly outstrip next Monday when last week and this week go on together

Plenty of things to shout about in the doubles list this week too!

Naomi C's magnificent triumph at the Joburg 100k lifts her a humungous 333 places to 329 ; only just outdone is Bally who's up 303 places to 626 ; while at the top of the GB doubles rankings Sarah Borwell is world #90, a new CH and Anne Keothavong is knocking on the door of the top 100 at 103, also a new CH

WTA have been posting the new rankings at a snail's pace today and even now the doubles are not up...news of Em's new doubles CH may have to wait for the morrow!

Meantime, she's up 10 to world 312 in the singles list

Jade's great fortnight has seen her jump 68 to a big new career high 383

Naomi B up 11 to new CH 372

Bally up 6 to 126

New career high for Carreras (part 3)

Yep, Amanda up to #446 now!

Emily up 5 to 303 ; but whilst temporarily on the sidelines powerless to stop Naomi C nipping past her to be GB #6 and world 297 courtesy of her good run at Nottingham

New CH for Jade C too 340

And Elena back to within 1 of her CH at 108 and up to GB #2 in the process

Level on 602 ranking points with Katie but one place ahead on countback.

No new CH for Amanda this week

Should be next week after a decent run on Hungarian clay last week!

New CH though for Elena Baltacha who is world #105 and GB #2 going into Wimbledon

New CHs also for Jade Curtis 338 and Naomi Broady 357

And in the doubles list new CHs for our Emily 314 and Naomi Cavaday 316

No huge rankings leaps after Wimbledon, then

Nice rises for Naomi C and Laura, though

Naomi +34 to 253; Laura +29 to new CH 459 just outside GB top 10; Amanda C down slightly in the world list but into the GB top 10 for the first time

Top 10 this week:

1. Anne 51; 2. Katie 110; 3. Elena 113; 4. Mel 131; 5. Georgie 187; 6. Naomi C 253; 7. Emily 305; 8. Jade 336; 9. Naomi B 369; 10. Amanda 449

Looks like that dicky bird who thought Emily would make the top 300 this week, mentioned on another thread, was out of his tree

Emily's back in the top 300

No big moves for any Brit Girls this week but Em's small one (+9 to 296) worthy of note!

Also, Amanda C +15 to 449 and Naomi C +5 to 248

Top 10 in same order as last week though.
