Brilliant stuff, George!

George Morgan has had a superb December in the USA making the singles QFs of the grade 1 Eddie Herr as a prelude to lifting the grade A Orange Bowl singles in magnificent style. Straight sets all the way apart from a first set blip in R3; fairly comfortable sets, too, taking the QFs 3&4, the SFs 2&1 and the final 2&3

George has slipped just in front of Oliver Golding to be world #14 against Olly's world #15; and with the 1992 born about to drop off the radar that'll be two Brits in the top 10

With 1994 born Liam Broady not too far adrift either!

GB Boys in world top 100 (6): 14 George; 15 Olly; 34 Liam; 62 Ashley Hewitt; 83 James Marsalek; 100 Kyle Edmund

GB Girls in world top 100 (2): 73 Laura Robson; 83 Jen Ren

3 Boys in the world top 15!

With the 1992 born now off the junior rankings, and with Olly Golding making the singles final and dubs semis of the Grade A in Casablanca, Mexico last week the first rankings list of 2011 has Olly at #4, George Morgan at #6 and Liam Broady at #15; plus 1995 born Kyle Edmund deep inside the top 100 now. Great work all you lads

George has the chance to regain the GB#1 spot next week at a Grade 1 in Australia...

British Girls are temporarily in short supply in the top echelon but there are plenty of youngsters bubbling under with in fact more Brit Girls in the top 200 than Brit Boys so their time will maybe come soon!

GB Boys in the world top 100 (5): 4 Olly; 6 George; 15 Liam; 56 Kyle; 86 Robert Carter [with 1995 born Luke Bambidge next Brit at #146]

GB Girls in the world top 100 (2): 61 Laura Robson; 75 Jen Ren [with Natalie Beazant next Brit at #102 and 1995 born Katy Dunne 5th Brit at #115]

Good work again George!

George Morgan had an excellent junior Australian Open making the semis of the singles where he succumbed only to the top seed and ultimate champion Jiri Vesely (CZE). George ran him close too! He had 6 break points to his opponent's 5 but his conversion rate was 0 for and 2 against; on such small margins...

Top GB Boy Olly Golding didn't make the trip but there's still two Brits in the top 6 Boys again this week!

GB Boys in world top 100 (5): 4 Olly Golding; 6 George Morgan; 22 Liam Broady; 60 Kyle Edmund; 65 Robert Carter [then 159 Luke Bambridge; 164 Joshua Ward-Hibbert]

GB Girls in world top 100 (1): 74 Jen Ren [then 110 Natalie Beazant; 124 Katy Dunne; 128 Lucy Brown; 134 Francesca Stephenson; 144 Jess Ren; 171 Eleanor Dean]

Time for some catch-up here!

Terrific progress since the last post by 16 year old Kyle Edmund on South American clay: grade 2 SF in Uruguay followed by grade 1 QF in Paraguay and then grade A SF at the Copa Gerdau in Brazil taking him to a Career High 29 ranking a fortnight ago

GB boys in world top 100 (5): 4 Oliver Golding; 8 George Morgan; 27 Liam Broady; 31 Kyle Edmunds; 94 Robert Carter [and then 104 Luke Bambridge]

Sadly, no British girls at all in the world top 100 at present but 16 year old Katy Dunne (128) and 15 year old Eleanor Dean (130) not too far away; GB #1 Girl currently is Natalie Beazant (120) who turned 18 this week.

Congratulations, Eleanor!

15 year old Eleanor Dean is now GB #1 junior girl on the back of two fruitful weeks on Italian clay: a Grade 2 dubs RU slot last week and a Grade 2 singles QF the week before put her on world #123 with 16 year old Katy Dunne our #2 at world #152. Onwards and upwards now please, Girls!

Excellent stuff from Liam Broady on French clay a fortnight ago, winning a Grade 1 singles and making the dubs QF too to have him back inside the top 20

GB Boys in the world top 100 this week (6): 4 Ollie; 8 George; 17 Liam; 35 Kyle; 94 Robert; 99 Luke

Junior Wimbledon time!

With junior Wimbledon just about to get under way, time to take stock of the last couple of months?!

Albeit the points from this week's Grade 1 on grass at Roehampton aren't in the frame yet...

Oliver Golding had a great May winning the Grade A dubs on Italian clay at Bonfiglio and then making the QFs of both singles and doubles on the red stuff at Roland Garros to be world #5 (OK, slightly down from his CH #3 chalked up in March but nothing a good Wimby wouldn't put right! )

George Morgan is still top 10 but has been concentrating on the senior tour since the AO in January (apart from a couple of largely fruitless outings on clay last month); Liam Broady is also still well inside the top 20 with a doubles runners-up spot at Bonfiglio adding to his tally but, likewise, has been mixing it with the seniors more and even beat the world #161 in the first round of qualifying for senior Wimbledon ; Kyle Edmunds picked up a Grade 1 doubles title in Italy last month to keep him nicely inside the top 40

GB Boys in world top 100 (5): 5 Oliver; 10 George; 16 Liam; 35 Kyle; 90 Luke Bambridge (with next 113 Robert Carter)

Still no GB Girls in the world top 100 yet but there's every chance 16 year old Katy Dunne and 15 year old Eleanor Dean (assuming she decides to step back down from the senior tour! ) might put that right soon...

Katy is at a new CH #110 this week having chalked up a grade 2 singles runner-up slot on clay in Hungary earlier this month whilst Eleanor, having posted a junior CH #123 last month, has superbly notched a senior $10k title on Dutch clay this month

Take a bow, Liam Broady!

Only went and won the Grade 1 singles on the grass at Roehampton to break into the world top 10 for the first time at #9

Nicely through already to R3 of the Wimbledon Boys' singles ; where, annoyingly, he faces top seed Vesely CZE; ah well, would clear the path to the final, eh?! Go, Liam

Fantastic that this week there are 3 GB Boys in the world top 11

Edit: Brilliant! Liam has now downed the top seed 6-4 7-5
BTW, I did NOT know that when posting earlier what ever the clock says, honest! This forum clock must be set to Dubai time or something!

George Morgan, Wimbledon champion!

George followed Liam onto the Boys' doubles roll of honour when he and Mate Pavic CRO, seeded 2, beat fellow Brit Oliver Golding and Jiri Vesely CZE, seeded 1, in a pulsating 3 setter on Court One which went 7-5 in the third to the Brit/Croatian combo.

As George was beaten finalist last year his ranking points didn't go up much and he remains GB #3 and world #11; still, Wimby champion, eh?!

Liam's great singles run to the final, where he was well on track to win for the first set and a bit before his Aussie opponent turned things around, means that Liam is at a new CH world #7 ; and he is GB #1 for the first time

Oliver Golding stays in the top 10 too

GB Boys in the world top 100 this week (5): 7 Liam; 10 Oliver; 11 George; 40 Kyle Edmund; 90 Luke Bambridge

No GB girls in the top 100 again but Katy (+5 to a new CH 105 ) and Eleanor (+10 to a new CH 113 ) both headed in the right direction. Eleanor had a great run at a Grade 2 on Dutch clay getting through to the semis beating along the way the top seed and world #34

Meanwhile, back after Summer plus that ad break!

Into the last Junior Slam event of the year and it's exciting stuff for GB Boys but a blank canvass for GB Girls this year

World top 100 girls still a Brit-free zone for now with our top three Girls Katy Dunne, Jessica Ren and Eleanor Dean ranked 112, 142 and 146 respectively; albeit they are to a greater or lesser extent all dabbling their toes in senior tennis perhaps as an alternative long term game plan.

5 Brit Boys in the world top 100 including Luke Bambridge at #91 and the others all inside the top 34 and still in the US Open singles having already notched R1 wins

GB #1 and world #8 Liam Broady, GB #2 and world #10 George Morgan, GB #3 and world #12 Oliver Golding and GB #4 Kyle Edmund (yes, he's the world #34 ) are all in different quarters so, as yet, an all-Brit SF remains possible

Good luck in R2 first though, Lads!

Oli Golding lifts title; 3 Brits in the SFs

Not quite 4 out of 4 with Liam going down narrowly in R3 but 3 out of 4 ain't too shabby

Superbly, Kyle, George and Oli were all there with Oli going on to beat the top seed Jiri Vesely (CZE) 5-7 6-3 6-4 in the final

This week's new rankings therefore have 3 British lads in the world top 10; fantastic stuff

GB Boys in world top 100 this week (5): 2 Oli Golding; 8 George Morgan; 10 Liam Broady; 27 Kyle Edmund; 90 Luke Bambridge

GB Girls in world top 200 this week (3): 113 Katy Dunne; 120 Eleanor Dean; 195 jessica Ren

Well done, Katy

Excellent that GB now has a Girl in the world top 100 again thanks to Katy Dunne's recent exploits over the past fortnight at a Grade A in Osaka, Japan and then a Grade 2 in Thailand.

Top 5 GB Girls this week: 83 Katy Dunne; 128 Eleanor Dean; 221 Pippa Horn; 229 Jess Ren; 231 Katie Boulter

Meantime, GB now has 6 Boys in the top 100 ; they are: 2 Oli Golding; 8 George Morgan; 11 Liam Broady; 29 Kyle Edmund; 94 Joshua Ward-Hibbert; 95 Luke Bambridge

Go, Liam!

With the 1993 born soon to drop off the junior rankings lists it's nice to dwell again on 3 Brits in the Boys world top 10 this week with Liam Broady up 2 places after being last 4 singles and runner-up doubles at last week's Grade 1 Eddie Herr on US clay

And to imagine Liam world #1 very soon maybe: he's #2 singles seed at this week's Grade A Orange Bowl on US hard

Top 10 GB Boys this week: 3 Oliver Golding (93 born); 9 Liam Broady (94); 10 George Morgan (93); 23 Kyle Edmund (95); 82 Joshua Ward-Hibbert (94); 96 Luke Bambridge (95); 110 Sam Hutt (94); 132 Jordan Angus (94); 136 Jonathan Cornish (94); 165 Evan Hoyt (95) [with '96 born Peter Ashley #11 at 182]

Top 10 GB Girls this week: 84 Katy Dunne (95); 129 Eleanor Dean (96); 223 Pippa Horn (95); 231 Jessica Ren (94); 233 Katie Boulter (96); 236 Georgina Sellyn (94); 259 Harriet Dart (96); 273 Laura Deigman (93); 294 Sarah Beth Askew (95); 323 Verena Jane Scott (94)
