It's been very remiss of me to have not yet mentioned, whilst watching events Stateside, the terrific (if somewhat bizarre) run that Naomi Cavaday has been having in Sweden!

Looks like Naomi is really ready for the fray again which can only be good for British tennis!

The 19 year old from Kent is currently ranked 282; she was at a career high 183 last March and let's hope she's back there (or better!) very soon!

Naomi won through 2 rounds of qualifying here including a tense 3 setter in Q2 and has now progressed to the semi-final for the loss of only 9 further games (albeit 2 of her opponents have retired from their matches early!).

Next up is Malek of Germany the 21 year old world 185. Go Naomi!

Naomi went down yesterday 2&1; but it's been a great 3 weeks on her comeback; 10 wins and 3 losses a very decent return! When the points feed through into the rankings a week on Monday she should be back in the top 250 again!
