Thanks for the great news, Jemma! Em does like to get her money's worth..another 3 setter but slightly less of a nail biter by the looks of it...6-3 4-6 6-4

It's Liu not top seed Lu in tomorrow's QF; good luck, Em!

For the record, Manisha's opener proved just as tough on court as on paper; Lucy put up a valiant show in her second round but went down; and Liz & Em were on the wrong side of the champions tiebreaker in their doubles QF

Liu looks like a hard one, obviously playing well and rising up the rankings quickly,Em may have been better with the top seed

Emily is in that stupid situation again of needing to be in two places at once,do you continue in this event and not play tenerife or do you not try too hard here so you can get across the water in time!

I agree it's stupid!

It's Em's call obviously but after the Pune episode last Autumn I'd be inclined to go all out for the title here!

the only problem is it will leave her with no money coming in next week and break up a nice 3 week run of back to back tourneys, no right answer

It's a wisdom of Solomon one, for sure!

I've just had a look at Naomi B's activity tab; she won $1,568 for her $10k win in Grenoble; she won $490 at the Sutton $25k for getting through the qualies and winning her first round proper. Just as a bit of a yardstick.

I reckon Em just enjoys the adrenalin rush of being one set all!

For the record, it's been 3-6 7-5 6-1; then 6-3 4-6 6-4; and now 6-4 4-6 6-2; getting slightly less stressful each time maybe!

Good luck tomorrow, Em!
