congrats on doubles win

Thanks for the heads-up on that Jemma!
Not sure how Em managed to sign in for the Tenerife doubles and play her Gran Canaria singles final as well...quick dash back and forth by fishing boat perhaps?!
Nice nail-biter for Em and Georgie Stoop 10-7 in the champions tiebreak to set up a tough QF against the 3rd seeds.
Good luck girls!

Brit Girl interest in Tenerife is now confined to Em & Georgie in the doubles after Georgie, GB #5 and world #189, surprisingly went down in the singles first round to the world 284.

Liz Thomas and Jade Allen, unfortunately, had previously gone down in qualifying.

Meanwhile back in blighty, the Bath 10k has unearthed a new Brit Girl hope in the shape of 15 year old Wild Card Daneika Borthwick who won her first round match today 6-4 6-2

Jade Curtis put a disappointing run of singles results behind her to chalk up a win in 3 sets over Liu who Em beat in Gran Canaria last week; the third set was in fact 6-0!

Naomi Broady is the only other Brit Girl to make it through R1 with Mandy Elliott, who was seeded 5th, unable to follow up her good showing at the Dijon 10k last week where she reached the semis.

Em's superb Canaries form continues!!

Fantastic doubles win, 10-7 in the champions tiebreaker again, against the third seeds means a lovely 24 ranking points for Em and Georgie taking both to pretty close to their career high doubles rankings a week on Monday!

SF against the top seeds next; plus the need to get to La Palma!

Looks like the rain caused havoc with the scheduling and Em & Georgie had to go virtually straight back on court for their SF.

No need to dwell on the score unduly! Time instead to look forward to the La Palma $25k...sign-in deadline about 30 minutes from now!

Meanwhile back in Bath, Jade C and Naomi B had stonking good wins against seeded opponents yesterday! Daneika went down in 3 sets but has put down a marker this week, for sure!

Excellently, the qualie draw has Em seeded #6 with Kostova her Q3 opponent if the seedings work out. She was well beaten by Em in the Gran Canaria SF, of course!

Em gets a bye in Q1

Liz Thomas and Tash Khan are also in the qualie field.

Good luck to all 3!

Back in Bath, Jade's run came to an end today but Naomi is through to the SF having today put out her second successive seed, #4 and world #352, with the 2nd seed and world #314 awaiting her next up!

Where Em plays next after her Canary time is up in the air at the moment; after a week's training it's going to be the Spanish $75k or the Turkish $10k

She'd be a shoo-in at Antalya-Belek where she's currently MD #15 with most of the others above her prioritising 4 or 5 elsewheres and Em's therefore very likely to be a top 4 seed!

The bigger challenge of the Monzon $75k may prove irresistible, however...plus Em's presumably in synch with Spain at the moment !

Although Em is way down the Alternates list for now, with the simultaneous $100k+H in Belgium there is going to be an even bigger shakeout than usual come withdrawal deadline day on Tuesday and I'll eat my hat if Em isn't comfortably into the qualie field!

With no Brit Girls making it through qualifying, Georgie Stoop has been ploughing a lonely furrow in the singles main draw in La Palma; but to good effect taking up her allotted place as #5 seed in the QF.

Next up is the top seed and world #136. Good luck, Georgie Girl!

Liz has picked up some ranking points in the doubles, though! She won through to the QF before succumbing to the #2 seeds.

Georgie couldn't quite repeat the QF magic and went down in three sets to the 4th seed to bring this Canary tour to a close as far as GBR is concerned!

But hey, it's been pretty memorable; a decent haul of singles and doubles ranking points for quite a few Brit Girls; and, of course, Emily's first senior singles title!
