Next stop after Florida was always going to be the Canaries but Emily has clearly decided to make up for the first week of her 2009 campaign lost to 'flu by squeezing the $10k at Las Palmas de Gran Canaria into her schedule the week after Fort Worth Beach!

And today's list has Em at MD #8.

Liz Thomas is #7 in the qualies list (priority 2)

No news at the moment; just keeping fingers crossed!

2 ranking points went on for Em today in the singles list taking her up 6 places to 350 (5 points ahead of Mandy Elliot who is GB #8); and in the doubles list Em's 14 points from Surprise have gone on taking her up 24 places to 402.

And the list for Tenerife, the week after Gran Canaria, now has Em at #10 in the qualies (after being #33 alternate when it was first published!). Fingers crossed for a great fortnight!

Also in the field for Tenerife are Georgie Stoop (Main Draw) and Laura Robson and Liz Thomas (Qualies).

I've had a word with my pal Steve who reckons he saw Em online earlier tonight on European time so he's hopeful that she's arrived safely in Gran Canaria to take up what should be a seeding in the Main Draw!

Yep, looks like its "game on" for Em!

Other Brit Girls in the mix could be Lucy Warburton who won through her first round of qualifying yesterday and Liz Thomas who may well be straight through to Main Draw as she's not in the qualie field but is #1 on the official qualie list.

News of the draw eagerly awaited!

Good work, Jemma!

I see Liz and Em are playing together in the doubs but could have had a kinder draw! The #1 seeds in the first round!

Manisha's a mystery to me, I'm afraid.

She, Lucy and Liz will all have to be on their mettle against tough seeded opponents.

The 5th seed (EMILY! ) looks favourite Brit Girl to progress (fingers crossed!); her opponent lost in straight sets last time out against the world #662.

You're right the Doubles does look tough - but I'm sure they'll give it all they've got and here's to Emily having a good outing in her first ever trip to the Canaries

Oh me of little faith! Em & Liz only went and won against their top seed opponents!!

Looks like it was a humdinger of a match against Xu & Zhang of China with the Chinese winning the first set 6-3 but then our girls taking the second 8-6 in the tiebreak and then taking the champions tiebreak 11-9 !

Great news from the singles, too!

Lucy made the most of her lucky loser spot to put out the #6 seed and world 396 in straight sets ; and Emily is through with a battling win! ; a comfortable 6-1 in the third after taking the nitty-gritty second 7-5.

Good luck tomorrow, Girls!

Liz unfortunately went down 4&2 to the #8 seed; and Manisha's result is awaited.

I'm guessing that Manisha will have been the only Brit Girl on singles duty today with Em & Liz on the doubles matchcourt. We'll see!

Meantime, just been having a peek at the updated lists for Tenerife
MD: 8 Georgie
Qualies: 8 Emily ; 27 Liz

and La Palma
MD: 8 Georgie
Qualies: 13 Emily ; 28 Tash ; 35 Liz

Laura has withdrawn from both (and Jersey)
