Over the next 3 weeks, there are economies of scale on offer in Antalya-Belek, Turkey for the ITF footsoldiers (female division); successive 10k tournaments meaning fewer airmiles! The first 2 have humungous qualie fields of 128 capacity too so basically anyone who racks up gets a game...but potentially has a long haul just to make maindraw! The third one has a still large 64 size qualie field. Our Em is giving the first one a miss but is #2 on the MD list for the second one so will be eyeing her second title to follow up her success in Gran Canaria ; and #13 in the MD list for the week after and every prospect of being a top 4 seed by the time everyone who really want to be elsewhere have dropped out by withdrawal deadline on Tuesday! Brit Girls straight into the MD for Antalya-Belek #1 are Jade Curtis at MD #6; Anna Fitzpatrick (back from long-term injury for her first singles tourney after a couple of weeks of doubles...good luck Anna! ) at MD #7; and Tara Moore at MD #17. 4 Brit Girls start their, hopefully long , trek through qualifying today |

Apologies, there were 5 Brit Girls at the start of qualifying. Sadly, despite wins in Q1 for Georgina Bastick and Alexandra Zanieski, there is only one Brit Girl left in Q4. Amy Sargeant had a very nice win today in Q3 against the 8th qseed and world 784 and hopefully will carry on the good work in the final round of qualifying tomorrow! It's a long old haul here just to make maindraw for that precious ranking point, that's for sure! |

The ITF footsoldiers (male division) are also in Antalya-Belek at the moment which I had overlooked having been focussed on Jersey! Last week's best showing by a Brit Guy was Morgan Phillips who went out in the maindraw second round but not before a very creditable win in the first round against the world #655. That'll earn him a nice lift in the rankings when they're published next...none being published today by the looks of it with, up in the stratosphere, the Miami ATP/WTA tournaments still running their courses. Morgan's last Brit Guy standing again this week! He's having to work his way through the 128 strong qualie field and in Q3 he put out the 10th qseed yesterday and today takes on the #2 qseed and world 617 for a place in the Main Draw. Good luck, Morgan! |

It was slim pickings in Antalya-Belek this week, sadly! Morgan ran the #2 qseed close in the last round of qualifying but went down 7-6(4) 6-4 Anna started her first single match for months well taking the first set 6-1 but lost the next two by the same score. Like Morgan, Amy went down in the last round of qualifying and the lucky loser berths went elsewhere! Better luck next week all round, then, all being well! The men's list has Dan Evans, hot after his Jersey win , at MD #5 and some 8 Brit Guys in the qualie field; the women's list still has our Em at MD #2 with Anna and Tash also in the MD at #11 and #12; plus 3 Brit Girls in the qualies. Good luck everybody! |

A bit more Brit success in Antalya-Belek this week! Sadly, only 2 Brit Girls in the MD as Em had to give the trip a miss still recovering from the Gran Canarian lego. But nice to report first round wins for both Tash and Anna (her first singles win of her comeback from injury, against the 7th seed too, so we can upgrade that from to !) and Anna through to the QFs in the doubs too! The Guys can trump that with 3 first round wins! Marcus Willis made his way through qualifying and turned a tough first round draw into a triumph over the 7th seeded world #455 whilst the two Dans, Cox and Evans, also progressed to R2. Unfortunately Dan Evans had to give his opponent a walkover but the other two won through to the QFs with Marcus taking his R2 match 6-1 in the third and Dan Cox, who also qualified, turned over the world #411 and 3rd seed 6-3 7-5 Marcus v Dan in the final still a possibility! Not so Tash v Anna; they both went out in R2 |

Catching up after a few days away! Well done to Dan for winning his QF overturning a 200+ rankings deficit...looking forward already to another career high ranking! Tough luck with the SF the key first set tie-break going the wrong way; ditto Marcus in his QF. It'd been a long haul from qualifying so more than ! |

Em not taking part after all! And Tash lost! So it's down to Dan; he came up trumps in R1 today beating the 6th seed and world 459 in straight sets! |

Dan continuing to fight a good fight! Dan, at a career high 698 this week, put out the former world 405 in R2 3-6 6-4 6-0 to make the QFs...new career highs very likely for the next two weeks as well, then! |

Dan double bagelled his QF opponent! His SF task was always going to be a toughie...the top seed and world 205 on his home soil...so going down 2&4 more than Been a great week again...hoping for more of the same next week as Dan looks like he's staying on! |

Dan's moved on after all! Annoyingly, the two Brit Guys in the final round of qualifying had to play each other! It was a humdinger, by the looks of it with Marcus Willis taking the first set 6-2 and the second going to the tie-breaker. Joshua Milton prevailed and then ran away with the third set. The roughness of the draw continued in R1 with Joshua up against the second seed and going down 2&3 A disappointing end to the Turkey trot! |

After a bit of a break there's more ITF tennis in Turkey again this week, at the Antalya-Manavgat 10k, and it's terrific to be able to congratulate Amanda Carreras, Brit Girl from the Rock of Gibraltar...more British than the British down there so they say...on her first ITF title, singles or doubles, won today! Mandy and her Italian partner took the final 10-4 in the champions tie-breaker Here's hoping it'll be the London bus syndrome for Mandy on Sunday after she put out the 2nd seed and world 401 (ex world 240) in today's singles QF 5-7 6-4 6-2. It's been a good day then, Mandy! |

Another good day for Amanda winning her SF 6-4 7-5 against the 5th seed to set up a final against an unseeded Spaniard Good luck tomorrow, Mandy; make it the double! |

She's only gone and done it again! Amanda has followed up last week's singles and doubles titles with two more at Antalya-Manavgat II ; WTA still has her titles at 0 & 0; that'll be 2 & 2 after Roland Garros, then! It was not easy trot, either, having to put out the top seed and world 316 in the singles QFs over three gruelling sets in searing heat and in today's final it was another 3 sets against a girl who was the world #11 junior last year. Fantastic stuff, Amanda! |
