It's great news that Emily has recovered from the Gran Canarian lego now and is back on the matchcourt again! First result in from the Balikpapan $25,000 tournament is a first round doubles win. Em and Ling Zhang of Hong Kong are third seeds and they beat a Chinese pairing 6-0 6-4. Subject to internet connection availability, Emily is hoping to post a daily diary here this week.

Doubles finalist! Lift the title, Em, and it's a big new doubles career high ranking anyway. Congratulations! Bad luck with the singles...your opponent just more used to the humid conditions presumably.

8 rankings points from the singles will be a rise of about 12 places in the world rankings to about 312 a week on Monday so knocking on the door of the top 300 now, Em! Keep strong and knock 'em dead next week!

ITF silent but Tennisforum says the top seeds won 3&3 Decent effort though and 34 ranking points in the locker! Acclimatised now and ready for the next two weeks as singles top seed again! Good luck, Emily!
