I've never really thought about it before but how do you "turn pro" in tennis?

In golf you lose your amateur status if you win a prize over a certain value but that doesn't apply in tennis since the start of the open era; in golf I'm guessing that you sign an application form to the PGA (and hope to qualify for the tour in tour school!).

If Emily or Olivia (or anyone else!) is able to post any info as to the process in tennis it would be gratefully received (and be of no practical use to me, , but it may be to others). Thanks!
