Andy's top seed at Queens this week

Andy Murray will be bidding to be the first Brit Guy to win here in the Open era and who would bet against it?

Andy Roddick maybe!

Only two other Brits in the Main Draw, Josh Goodall and James Ward as Wild Cards well justified by recent good results

Go, Guys!

The prize fund for this event is 750,000 Euros (the ATP250 means the winner gets 250 ranking points rather than the total purse being 250k); anyway, means that Josh and James pick up 3,515 Euros as first round losers so a bit of to soften the

James went down 2&3 to Baghdatis whilst Josh gave the world #95 a helluva second set before going down 3-6 6-7(7)

Just leaves the #1 seed then...

Into the QFs nice 'n' easy

Andy won 4&4 today so that none of his 4 sets so far have gone into overtime

Next up 8th seed Mardy Fish

Straight sets again!

Pretty emphatic again from Andy today; although 7-5 6-3 looks like a bit of overtime, Andy only dropped 5 points on serve over the whole match

Unseeded Ferrero in the SFs; Andy Roddick still on course to be the final match-up; go, Andies

Some doubles news!

Fantastic result from Colin Fleming and Ken Skupski putting out Bob & Mike Bryan in R2 of the doubs 4&4 ; they're only the world number 1s this week (albeit ranked #2 for this tourney as they've just displaced Nestor & Zimonjic)

Andy through to the final without dropping a set

Won his SF 2&4 with a chance now to surpass Tim Henman who was runner-up 3 times and to match Bunny Austin who was the last British winner at Queens..in 1938

His opponent is 6th seed James Blake of the US who won through in unsatisfactory circumstances; Andy Roddick had to conceed at 4-4 in the first set with an ankle injury

Lift the title, Andy!

Disappointment in the doubles where Colin and Ken couldn't quite follow up their heroics against the Bryans; it was still a great fight though against the 6th seeds going down 7-5 6-7(3) 7-10 so more than albeit

Job done!

Andy duly lifted the title, his first on grass, 7-5 6-4

That's 71 years of history bridged then...the little matter of Fred Perry's in 3 weeks' times next?
