Another great day at the office for Jamie Baker!

Jamie continued his meteoric rise up the rankings which has been gathering pace since his return from four months out with injury in the first half of 2009.

His Career High #211 is becoming a realistic target again and there's another 6 ranking points in the old kit bag after round 1 at the ATP $50k Challenger now being held on the Plexipave of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois, USA.

Facing a rankings deficit of 202, Jamie recovered from dropping the first set 3-6 to 8th seeded American Robert Kendrick to take the next 6-4 and then ease his way to the third 6-2. Superb

There's plenty of Brit Guy interest in the dubs here with Dominic Inglot, Richard Bloomfield and Jamie Delgado all ready to rumble.

Annoyingly, Richard and Dominic face each other in R1; Dom is teamed up again with Rylan Rizza and looking to match (or better ) their run at Charlottesville where they were runners-up (9-11 in the MTB ) ; Jamie and partner face the third seeds in R1, Aussies Hensel and Hubble who Dom and Rylan beat in Charlottesville : perhaps they'll give them some tips!

Dominic and Jamie into the dubs QFs

Great result for Jamie Delgado and his American partner putting out the 3rd seeds in R1 4-6 7-6(2) 10-6

Dom and Rylan won through against Richard and partner 6-0 7-6(2) to face the second seeds next; Charlottesville all over again?!

In the singles, Jamie B was up against 166 ranked Ryan Sweeting in R2 but was downed 4&4

Jamie D on fire!

Jamie Delgado and his American partner, John Paul Frittero, followed up their superb win in R1 over the third seeds to waltz through their QF 6-1 6-2 ; and now face the Americans Brian and Dann Battistone for a place in the final. Go, Jamie!

Sadly, Dom and Rylan were just squeezed out of their QF against the second seeds 10-7 in the MTB

Bad luck Jamie

Jamie's excellent run in the dubs came to an end at the semi-final stage going down fighting 5-7 4-6 ; still, the 27 ranking points will come in handy as he climbs towards the top 100
