Jamie B and Jamie D both looking to add to their excellent week last week in Illinois by popping down to Mexico

The week got off to a good start for the Brit Guys with Richard Bloomfield winning his way through qualifying to pick up 3 ranking points

More good news overnight with Jamie B winning his R1 6-3 6-3 earning 5 points and a likely R2 against world #145 Zemlja of Slovakia, the 6th seed

Jamie D has continued last week's partnership with Fruttero and they are seeded 3 here; they won their R1 squeezing through 10-8 in the MTB

All good news so far, then...

More good news!

Great result from Richard Bloomfield overnight beating American wild card Greg Ouellette 6-4 7-6(5) to rack up another 5 points to add to the 3 from qualifying.

Tough test next against Spanish 4th seed Pere Riba ranked 123.
Good luck, Richard

Strange but true!

No survivors from the above post ; Jamie B gave the 6th seed a good run for his money but went down in 3; Jamie D edged out of the dubs 10-8 in the MTB; Richard gave 4th seed a good run for his money (can you see a trend? ) but went down 7-6(4) 6-4.

BUT...Jamie B was drafted into the dubs as an alternate with an Aussie partner, given a W/O in R1, won his QF 7-5 6-2 and Bob's your Uncle!
Good luck in the SFs Jamie!

Should've had thread for the women's ITF!

Jamie B's unscheduled role as last man standing came to an end in the doubles SFs 10-6 in the MTB

Meanwhile, at the concurrent women's $25k ITF here, Naomi Broady was going through the field like the proverbial dose of salts on her first week back after 20 weeks injury absence to lift the singles title without dropping a set!

See the Homepage and then Stop Press Archive thread for details!
