Thanks jemma
Rain delays today have left things behind schedule and Emily's match against talented youngster Anna Orlik of Belarus unfinished with, unfortunately, Em having just dropped the first set 2-6.

Here's hoping for a better day tomorrow

Mel awaiting the draw as a Direct Acceptance into the Main Draw

Mel draws a qualifier in R1

Unfortunately, 'twon't be Emily who fought back to take the second set from Orlik in Q1 6-4 but went down in the third 3-6. Bad luck Em

Better luck in the dubs teamed up again with Mel up against a Korean wild card pair in R1 ; the top seeds likely to be awaiting in the QFs.

Some you win, some you lose

Emily and Mel chalked up some doubles rankings points with a win in R1 for the loss of only one game ; but went down in their QF 7-5 6-1 against a very handy Japanese pair who had ejected the top seeds in R1

Better news for Mel in the singles with two wins so far including coming back from the brink in R1 to win 3-6 7-6(1) 6-4 and taking her R2 in two straight, but close, sets 7-5 6-4

Xu Yi-Fan (CHN) ranked 344 next up in the QFs; good luck Mel

Game over

Here anyway! Mel went down 4&0 but still picks up 14 ranking points which should give her rise of 13 places in the world order on Monday week

Mel and Emily parting company for next week: Emily staying in Korea for the Gimcheon $25k (straight into the MD ) and Mel heading to Japan for the Gifu $50k (also straight into the MD )

Good luck both
